HAPPY TAILS: MAZI – formerly RUFFLES
HAPPY TAILS: MAZI – formerly RUFFLES!!!!! Tina adopted Mazi, formerly Ruffles, from HBR just over a year ago. As she celebrates her first gotcha day, we checked in to see how she is doing. Tina provided this update: “Mazi loves to snuggle under blankets and torture my brother Sherman. Puppuccino from Starbucks is always a sweet messy treat. Enjoys starring at the squirrels in the back yard, playdates with George at his house. He is a french bulldog that we are close with.”When asked to share a funny story, Tina said: “We have another fur baby, she is a pig, Ginger. Sherman and Ginger like to snuggle together, while Mazi will want no part of that and prefers her snuggles with mom. When Mazi doesn’t approve of something or wants attention she will do these air chomps/bites and licks profusely.” “Mazi had no issues adapting to her new home. Mazi settled in quick – besides avoiding the pig at all cost for the first month or so.”When asked to provide some advice to potential adopters, Tina replied: “Be patient with any new adopted pets. It takes time for them to adjust and every animal is different. Could be an instant bond but also could take weeks. Please ensure you have ample to to spend with them especially in the settling in stage. Adopting Mazi has been my best decision yet. Everyone loves her and she is such a sweetheart. Great experience with HBR and the foster family that Mazi was with. I had a DNA test done. Mazi is mix of stapphire terrier, pug and Boston terrier.”We are so happy that Mazi has settled in with her forever family and she is clearly loved! Thank you for choosing adoption!
HAPPY TAILS: WALLY
HAPPY TAILS: WALLY!!!! Mark and family adopted Wally from HBR just over a year ago! As he celebrates his first gotcha day, we checked in to see how he is doing! Mark provided the following update: “Wally loves playing hockey, he fetches the ball or puck with 110% effort and could play for hours. He loves cuddling on the couch (but only when he is permitted ). Wally will eat any and all things, although he has a sensitive stomach and got pancreatitis once, so we have to be careful now. He loves chewing on his raw bones from the local butcher shop. Wally started off from trying to pull me every which way on the leash and being a ‘velcro dog’ to now walking freely without his leash and responding to commands almost 100% of the time. Wally did not have any real issues getting used to the new home; I got him at the start of the pandemic so we had a lot of time to spend together.”When asked to share some advice for potential adopters, Mark was clear: “Train, train, train!! Don’t let the dog get away with things (even once!) that you don’t want them doing; be patient and persistent.” “Wally must have had a rough/lonely upbringing because he doesn’t know how to play with other dogs, he really wants to, but his dominant personality turns it into a “humping match”. We are continuing to work on this with a trainer.”Wally is doing so well with his forever family and they are committed to continuing to work with him on his training and obedience! We are so happy to know Wally is really loved and cared for! Thank you for choosing adoption!
